What Games Does And How He Does It Well, And Not So Well.

So let's start with what this is about Cali Republic, I've been seeing a lot of mixed reaction here as well as all over the ne.

If you can't be bothered reading something serious and taking what I say serious you may as well stop reading NOW!!!

For me Cali Republic is a real nice tape nothing spectacular nothing game changing and nothing new from the modern day King Of The West, the tape starts of for me how he did on The Hangover straight spitting, but it's swag bars Drake style, and Game being Game he's biting but we all expect that right?

Wrong, what happened to Game that did his own thing, Game that said fuck the mainstream and spat some brutal bars? That Game is long gone in my honest opinion and I've started to warm to the NEW Game, see what Game for me does is take other n*ggas styles and them flips it to Jayceons own and does it better than most the rappers that have their own specific sound.

For example on God Speed he's biting Drake/J. Cole ain't no two ways about it but I like it, rides the beat as Game does best and does that shit well, then you got Game jacking the whole smokers type of shit on Hit The J and he bites Wiz etc. and yet again he does it better than Wiz, then on to something that I really liked on the tape Mean Muggin Game jacks the whole swag rap and got me swagging the fuck out haha.

Most loyal Game fans are disappointed at the identity that Game once had has been overcast with trying to fit in the mainstream which is something to me Game never tried to do, but can we complain at new music? No so to me let Game do what he does if you don't like it don't hate just move the fuck on theres plenty of other rappers out there you can warm too so open your ears and mind and experience some new shit.

On that note I do hope dearly that we get an album on the level of Doc/Da again but their the albums that made us fans of Game and we have to learn to lower our expectations every now and then in life and one for most of the people on here is that Game is im a different lane and we as fans need to carry on supporting or march the fuck on!!!

There's a lot of ungrateful fans on this site. A lot of my favorite artist aren't putting out 2-3 mixtapes then an album on top of that in a year, I have to wait around 3 years to get a new DPG album or 5 years for a new Wu-Tang album or 2 years for a new Kanye album. Game is really the only artist that I really listen to hardcore who pumps out a lot a material at one time, of course there's other artist I like who put out a lot of music but my favorites aren't doing it like Game. So, it amazes me when people can still bitch and moan about this mixtape. Yea, its obviously not classic material but at least he gave us some worth while songs like Red Bottom Boss, Skate On, and Roll My Shit. It's really a lose lose situation for Game on this board anyways, if he put out amazing tracks people would whine about "why didn't he make songs like this on RED." And I admit, I was one of those who didn't like him putting all those great songs on Purp and Patron. The reason I didn't like it was because he mixed those great songs with some average/terrible tracks. Which is why I'm happy he didn't put any amazing song this time around. This mixtape wasn't meant to be classic, just take it for what it is, a quickly made mixtape to keep Game fans interested in what's yet to come.

It's not keeping me interested though... Quite the opposite!! I'd much prefer him 2 put out 1 quality mixtape a year and just leak quality tracks from time 2 time! Coming off his weakest album he needs 2b putting out something tight not allowing standards 2 slip further and losing more fans... If its not quality don't put it out IMO! A lot of people r losing faith in game mainly because of the continual rapper impersonations he's doing instead if just doing him! It's like he's taken the criticism from red and thought I know I'll multiply it by 1000 and put a tape out!! I'll b back when he starts making good music tbh, not hating just don't like the direction he's been headed in since LAX!

i dont mind him makin songs for club or chicks as long as it has the westcoast vibe..i hate the southern beats that he's usin to just tag along with wats popular..

as youve stated the bitin and jaccin styles..

the content..i know its a mixtape but cars..money..bitches..alcohol in every song gets annoyin..

and to be fair i re-listened to the tape and 1/4 is dope..another 1/4 is decent and songs i wil play now and then..and the other half is just trash..

another point is game aint choosin the dope beats he used to!

Game is on a crossroad in his career.... One more album an the contract is done. 

He can #1. retire #2. Start a new contract with Insterscope #3. Go independent #4. Join a successful label

How he chooses to stay Relevant will be on him honestly. The Old stuff won't work an Hip-Hop is changing making less room for a "Gangsta Rapper"  There are New Audiances and listeners out there an if Game don't reinvent himself it will be over. Jay Z today is not the same Jay Z when he first came out but somehow he's successful in a way. I guess Game needs to balance his fans and who he caters to because Hip Hop fans can be fickle.

Jay z's lyrical content has changed as I agree games should but jay z still sounds like jay z he's not doing drake/ross/jeezy/3k/cole impersonations on every track and this is the main problem I have with this tape and game in general tbh!

Yea that's true. I don't know why he does the impersonations when he got if I say one of the most powerful sounding voice in Hip-Hop.

It's koo.... But it does take away from the music tho. Lyrically he's gotten better I think but just the voice changing i find as a flaw.
